If you plan to enjoy your keg over multiple nights, using a gas cylinder is a good idea—it helps keep your beer fresh for longer.
For beers like Guinness and other stouts, a gas mix of 75% Nitrogen and 25% Carbon Dioxide is best, which you can only get with a gas bottle.
However, this doesn’t apply to KeyKegs since the beer never comes into contact with air.
