PerfectDraft Machine

PerfectDraft Pro - Temperature

The PerfectDraft Pro machine uses a temperature sensor and a fan system to cool the keg to your desired temperature. Here's what you need to know about setting and maintaining the temperature for your PerfectDraft Pro machine.

Cooling Process and Defrost State

  • Cooling Mechanism:
    • The machine uses a temperature sensor and fan system to cool the keg.
  • Defrost State:
    • Occasionally, the machine will enter a defrost state to protect the longevity of its components. This is factored into the expected cooling time.

Adjusting Temperature

  • Increasing Temperature:
    • If you set the temperature higher than the current setting, the machine will turn off the cooling until it reaches the desired temperature.
  • Cold Environments:
    • In extremely cold environments, the temperature of the keg may drop below the selected temperature.

Recommended Temperatures by Beer Type

The ideal temperature can depend on personal taste, but here are some general guidelines:

Beer Type Recommended Temperature
Lager 3-5ºC
Wheat beers 4-6ºC
Pale ale 4-6ºC
IPA 5-7ºC
Belgian pale ales 6-7ºC
Belgian dark ales 6-7ºC
Stouts & porters 7ºC

Temperature Colours on PerfectDraft Pro

Each colour on the display indicates a different temperature status:

Colour Meaning
Red Beer is warmer than the set temperature (over 2°C warmer)
Blue Beer is within 2°C of the set temperature
Green Power-Saving Mode is currently active

Summer Performance

  • High Ambient Temperatures:
    • The PerfectDraft Pro machine is capable of cooling at a stable rate in ambient temperatures up to 38°C. This means it should perform well even during the summer.
